New Years Goals
Many people try hard to set resolutions and adhere to them for at least a few weeks after the New Year
begins, but few really are motivated to stick with them. I do believe that the New Year is a time for fresh
starts and a chance to change something about yourself.
I can definitely be a Pollyanna at times and I like to look at the positive in situations. I hope to continue
that in 2008 and found this inspiring quote on a website a mother is keeping regarding her daughter's 3
year battle with brain cancer. It really puts things in perspective when you realize how upset we become
over the unimportant or how easy most of us have it. I can not begin to imagine the heartache that family
is suffering watching their 7 year old go through chemo and radiation. For 2008, I hope we all realize how
fortunate we are and consider the following:
Count your blessings instead of your crosses;
Count your gains instead of your losses
Count your joys instead of your woes;
Count your friends instead of your foes.
Count your smiles instead of your tears;
Count your courage instead of your fears.
Count your full years instead of your lean;
Count your kind deeds instead of your mean.
Count your health instead of your wealth;
Count on God instead of yourself.
