I work with brides a lot in regards to their color palette and decor. There is not a hard or fast rule, other than selecting colors you like so you are surrounded by hues that make you happy. I have seen some beautiful combinations and others that were quite unique because they represented the bride's personality. Have fun with color and stretch outside the norm.

I came across an interesting website http://www.colorstrology.com/ that may or may not give you some ideas. My birthday says I should surround myself with Cadmium Orange and that my traits are: Romantic, Desirable and Dramatic. Not too sure about that but it's interesting.
